Condensation and Mould - Hampstead:

During my inspection excessive mould was noted to the walls and ceiling in the bedroom where the built-in cupboards had been. When warm moist air meets a cold wall surface Dew Point is reached and condensation occurs. This pure water is a perfect environment for mould to grow. Showering, cooking and even breathing add to the moisture in the air, if this moist air is not expelled from the property it will continue to cause damp and mouldy conditions.

The walls had become badly damaged and so we had to repair the plasterwork first. Once this had dried, we insulated the walls, and the client was able to put the cupboards back.
