The external face bricks were not previously sealed. The jointing between the brickwork had gaps and was loose in places. This was allowing rainwater penetration into the wall, which was causing the internal plaster to be damp damage. As the gutter was blocked, additional rainwater was running down the wall in the same area, this had exacerbated the problem.

We unblocked the gutters, cleaned down the walls and applied a breathable, clear coating to the brickwork.
