RISING DAMP - CHISWICK:

During DAMPSTAR’S inspection of this property, medium to high moisture readings were obtained from the walls using an Electronic Moisture Resistance Meter. Visible signs of bubbling paint were evident due to efflorescent salts. Rising damp is caused by the damp-proof course being omitted, aged, incorrectly positioned or bridged. Moisture will then rise up the wall by capillary action and evaporate from the surface, leaving behind the efflorescent salts. Once the plaster is contaminated with such salts it must be removed.

We removed the plaster, introduced a new damp course through chemical injection and replastered the wall with a breathable, damp-proof render and plaster finish. All our work is fully guaranteed.
